POSTPARTUM

If you have had a vaginal birth there can be some aches and pains form sore muscles or some stitches. Usually it’s nothing that can’t be controlled with Panadol or Panadeine. You will be bale to shower and that will also help with some cramping some women get.

If you have had a Caesarean section your Anaesthetist will sort out your pain relief. You will be taking some strong narcotics for the first few days and be in bed for the first 24 hours. When you go home you will be advised on what to take to help you recover.

If you have any further questions please talk to your doctor or midwife during the pregnancy so you are aware of your choices and fully informed.
